Garden of Beauty is Taking a Short Break/Hiatus

Posted on 26 April 2012 by Garden of Beauty

Hi readers – thank you so much for visiting Garden of Beauty regularly, and sharing the articles, commenting and providing the feedback I do so love – all of it is deeply appreciated. :)

I wanted to let you all know that I’m hitting a really rough, busy time in my life right now – so busy that I’ve had to consider shutting down my blog. While I’ve always wanted to write about natural beauty, I initially started this blog to get my name out there for commercial writing work in the niche. It’s done that, but now I don’t have the time to write professionally anymore – so Garden of Beauty’s become a hobby instead. And has taken an unfortunate backseat.

The idea of shutting this down is painful. I don’t want to do that – I have so much to share! Researching and writing about natural beauty’s a lot of fun, and whatever I learn is passed down to you. Instead of completely shutting down, I’ve decided a short break is in order to get my life back on track and my priorities in order. This may take up to a week or maybe more, but I didn’t want to completely vanish without explaining why.

I have lots of drafted articles I can’t wait to write up, but time simply won’t allow me to. There isn’t enough of me to go around, and not enough time in a day to spare. My energy’s drained and I end up sleeping at odd times because I can’t find the time otherwise. It’s pretty brutal.

So, I’ll be back in a bit, and until then you can read some older content I have on here, visit the Resources link above for more info, or the recommended natural beauty blog links over to the right sidebar.

Coming in May, I hope to host another giveaway (or two), some articles with DIY recipes, more reviews, and of course, useful articles educating you on the benefits of going eco with your beauty.

See you then, and again, thank you all for contributing to the steady growth of Garden of Beauty, and your unwavering support. :)

XO,

Jean

Completely understand Jean! I also stretch myself too thinly at times and the blog can take a back seat. Do what you need to get yourself sorted, that comes first :) I’m still going to tweet you on the odd occasion though :) oxo

As a fellow freelance writer and all-natural beauty blogger, I understand way too well the pressure of keeping up with a world that moves way too fast. Take good care of yourself! Will be looking forward to your return very soon :)

Thanks, Annette! :) You’re absolutely right – the world does move too fast! It was treading along just fine, then someone hit the gas and won’t let go! And of course, feel free to link to my posts if you’d like to! :D

Thanks, Dana! I can’t even imagine how busy you must be – my life is hectic but I’m not a Mom. I don’t think I could handle it, honestly! :( I will be checking Twitter on occasion as well, so I’ll still see you there! :)

Thank you, Lisa! I really appreciate your support and retweets – every bit is very much appreciated. I’m so glad to hear your feedback too – and you’re right, it’s definitely a crazy world. :) Can’t wait to get back into the swing of things around here!

I’ve been in your shoes for a couple of times too many, lol. I’ve got a really demanding day job and sometimes, it zaps all the energy I have and leaves too little for my main “hobby” which is my blog. So I also take breaks from blogging every once in a while. :) So far, my longest was–I think– 2 months, lol. Good luck with whatever you’re busy with and hope you come back with a zest-full of fresh ideas!

Hey Jean! Take your time but everyone does love your blog so do get back when you feel more free :) You give such great advice about natural and the world needs more people loving natural. Cheers!

Thanks, you two! :) I’m hoping to get more time to blog sometime in May – things are slowing down a little now. I really appreciate your support!! :D
