Chocolate Sun Marigold Moisturizer For Face Review

Posted on 25 January 2012 by Garden of Beauty

Chocolate Sun Marigold Moisturizer For Face - Review

I’ve been using this moisturizer for the past week and so far, I can say that it’s effective and does what it promises. Marigold is supposed to be anti-inflammatory, but I don’t really have an issue with inflamed skin to begin with so I can’t judge on that claim. Still, I can say that it’s a rich lotion, almost like a cream. It smells happy, summery and tart. It absorbs easily and right after application, my skin looked luminous and softer. After an hour, it still feels soft and hydrated. The high SPF (30) just makes it that much better.

It possesses all the qualities I look for in my moisturizer – except its consistency. Chocolate Sun Marigold Moisturizer for Face feels closer to a cream than a lotion. I prefer my moisturizers to be lightweight, and sink in quickly as if my skin’s drinking it down. This may be meant for drier skin (mine is normal/combination) so it’s a bit too rich for my taste.

A little goes a long way with this since it’s so thick, so that may help you extend the life of your bottle. Being only 4 oz (and nearly 30.00) turns me off since I like to stick with one moisturizer. Sometimes I use the same moisturizer at night, even if it has SPF, so I can use it up to twice a day. The last thing I want to do is experiment with lotions and cleansers on my face. If my skin doesn’t like it, everyone else knows!

It uses titanium dioxide as the sunblock, so if you’re allergic or have your own issues with the ingredient, you may want to look elsewhere for a cheaper alternative with zinc oxide.

Ingredients:  Aqua (distilled water), aloe barbaderisis gel (aloe vera gel), calendula officinalis (marigold extract), prunus dulcia (sweet almond oil), helianthus annus (sunflower oil), emuliuni delta (vegetable emulsifier), camelia sinertsis leaf extract (white tea), octinoyate (cinnamon plant derived), octyl salicylate (white willow bark derived), titanium dioxide (mineral), glucorio delta lactone (natural food-grade preservative), sodium benzoate (natural food-grade preservative), calcium gluconate (natural food-grade preservative)

USDA Certified Organic?:  No, but made with  90% organic ingredients.

Average Price: $28.00 for 4 oz

Additional Notes: Protects against UVA, UVB and UVC rays. Uses titanium dioxide. SPF 30.

Acure Organics Radical Resurfacing Facial Lotion Review

Acure Organics Radical Resurfacing Facial Lotion – Review

I got a sample of this facial lotion and have been using it on one side of my face for the past few days. I like it – it feels very refreshing on clean skin, has a cheerful, citrusy smell, lightweight and absorbs very easily. This lotion goes on smooth, too, and is easy to spread. My skin’s texture does feel and look nice immediately after application and as of today, there’s been no ill effects yet. Good to know I’m not allergic to any of the ingredients!

One thing I love about this is how quickly my skin devours this moisturizer. It almost feels like my skin was thirsty and was dying for a drink of this. I love quick absorbing lotions and balms in general. After 10 minutes, it almost feels like there isn’t any lotion there at all. Not a bad thing – I’m just used to that filmy feel after applying moisturizer.

So far, I’m liking it. There’s nothing absolutely stand-out about it – it’s moisturizer. Apparently, it’s supposed to help with hyperpigmentation and blotchiness, but I haven’t used it long enough to see if that’d work. It feels great and passes the absorption test. Perhaps with more time, I could test its work against hyperpigmentation.

For now, this is a very, very nice moisturizer and is suitable for normal, combination, and possibly oily skin types. if you have sensitive skin, check the ingredients before purchasing.
