White Apricot’s Green Grab Bag Haul for January 2012

My Green Grab Bag haul from White Apricot arrived! Actually, it arrived a few days ago, but I’ve been too busy to open it and see the contents until yesterday. I managed to slather on one or two things, but it’s too soon to tell how they are. Still, let’s see what’s inside, shall we?

Here’s the bag it came in. :) I’ll be re-using it to hold my current natural beauty hauls.
All the contents, neatly laid out. Lots of generous samples!
A closeup on the Savvy Boheme samples. There were the Raven’s Balm Facial Moisturizer, Raw Sugar Scrub, and some African Black Soap. I’ve heard it’s some sort of miracle soap, so I’m happy to be able to try it!

Two samples of Pevonia Botanica De-Aging Body Balm in Papaya Pineapple. I LOVE tropical fruits, so this was certainly a treat to see. This is seriously luxurious stuff that I wouldn’t be able to afford otherwise, so this is a great opportunity!

Two samples of l’uvalla Hydrating Milk Cleanser. Milk’s always a plus with me, so I’m looking forward to giving this a try. Apparently, it can also be used as a shaving cream and hydrating mask.

Two samples of derma-e Microdermabrasion Scrub. It “naturally improves skin tone and texture with a crystal blend system that encourages regeneration. The crystals work to diminish fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration. Accompanying the exfoliating crystals are a blend of oils to nourish skin and leave it looking radiant.” Sounds interesting. Note: It contains phenoxyethanol.

Two samples of Gabriel Organics Seaweed Revitalizing Bath & Shower Gel. According to the website, “Nourishing seaweed extracts and precious botanical oils are the basis for this purifying body cleanser. The subtle foaming action helps to gently eliminate environmental impurities from the body, while Vitamin C and aloe vera restore lost minerals which are essential for maintaining natural moisture balance and resiliency and revitalizing skin.” I’m not a fan of shower gels (I prefer bar soap or creamy body washes), but I’ll try this one – why not?
I also got a small bottle of Verde Naturals Bubble Bath in Honey Almond, but I forgot to take a picture of it. Whoops. Anyhow, it comes in a 100% natural goatsmilk soap base and enhanced with a generous addition of silk fibers. Also includes a “luscious 10% helping of shea butter, making a creamy, smooth lather that rinses away nicely without leaving the skin parched.” I don’t take bubble baths anymore (no time and this house is packed with people who always needs the bathroom) so I stick to quick showers now. I’ll probably try it as a foot soak.
So, there’s the contents of the January 2012 Green Grab Bag! I’m pleased with the results, and am happy to be able to try some luxury brands (Pevonia) as well as some new face cleansers and scrubs. Though, I admit I’ll be using the African Black Soap first.
I can’t wait for February’s haul already! Want to snag your own? Get it here!

I got the same exact kit and here are my thoughts….I LOVED the packaging…so adorable! Loved three of the samples and actually purchased full sizes (hydrating milk cleanser, microdermabrasion scrub &, black african soap). All three amazing products. My only complaint is that I am not a fan of those tear away plastic sample sizes. They do not seal up. And it’s nearly impossible to get enough uses to tell if you like a product with only 3-4 uses. Thankfully the milk cleanser and exfoliator you only needed a teeny amt so they lasted a long time. But I do hope my next bag contains a bit larger size samples…I would hope we get something more than those free ones you can pick up anywhere. Otherwise, I love the idea and hope my 2nd kit is improved!!!!
Hi Karen, and thanks for replying (and reading)! You know, I don’t really like the tear away packages either. It forces you to use it all up that once time (as you mentioned, because they don’t seal) and how can you really tell it’ll work? I absolutely agree with you!
So you liked the African soap! I’m eager to try it, but I have so many other soaps to use up it’s almost frightening, ha!
